Our favorite Spanish wine expert, Linda Smith, will take us on a journey through Rioja, Priorat, Rias Biaxas, Ribera del Duoro, Penedes, and Jerez with 6 incredible wines to match Glen’s 6 course tapas menu. Special Event!! Benefit for Todd Windisch

In lieu of our 1 year anniversary party for Swirl and Lux Salon, the Faubourg St. John Merchants Association is holding a fund raiser for one of our fellow business owners. Todd Windisch, who co-owns Lux Salon with his wife Erin Peacock, had a terrible motorcycle accident 4 weeks ago. He has been hospitalized for the past 3 weeks, has had 7 surgeries to date and as a diabetic there are added complications to his recovery. Needless to say his medical bills are sky rocketing, he will be unable to work as a contractor for a long period of time, and Erin is at his bed side 24 hours a day. To help Todd get back on his feet, no pun intended, we're throwing a big party in Fortier Park, across Esplanade from Swirl. So join us at "Todd Fest" for food from our local restaurants, Lola’s, Café Degas, Asian Pacific and La Vita, live music, wines by Swirl, beer by Pal’s Lounge, non alcoholic drinks fr om Fair Grinds, a silent auction, kid’s activity table and more!

Join us for a very special event as we pair up with Angel Miranda, Chef/Owner of Lola’s, as he opens his home for a demonstration of new, global Spanish cuisine cooking techniques by acclaimed Spanish Chef Acisclo Villalobos, assisted by Angel. The evening will feature a tapas cooking demonstration, a sampling of 10 prepared dishes, a tasting of 6 wines paired and provided by Swirl, advice on pairing wine and food, and Lola’s fabulous Sangria! Join Antonio Molesini and Toni Apostolakis International Wine Ambassador from Agricola Masi join us for this very special tasting of their wines from the Veneto region of Italy. Wine Enthusiast has recognized that "Masi is one of Italy’s most dynamic and innovative wineries, particularly for its skillful way of combining traditional and terroir-driven techniques with cutting edge technologies." The Masi vineyards have remained in the Boscaini family for six generations and specialize in the production of Amarones and Reciotos, using the historic technique of "appassimento" (drying of the grapes), and has gained worldwide reputation for their quality wines. It seems that everyone loves bubbles! As our waiting list grew, we began looking for a larger venue for our tasting and have been fortunate enough to be able to hold it in the most fabulous art gallery in the French Quarter. Our friend Angela has graciously allowed us to hold December’s Monthly Swirl at Angela King Gallery on Royal Street where we will feature everyone’s favorite holiday beverage, BUBBLY!! Linda Smith from Republic Beverage will be back to taste us through some fabulous sparklers from around the globe including Italy, France, California and more! This is a great opportunity to find a wonderful gift or some great bubbly for your holiday celebrations, and we’ll give you 10% off anything you purchase this evening! Swirlin' In the Community: Benefit for Project Lazarus

Join us this evening for a fun event for a great cause. Project Lazarus provides services to people with AIDS who can no longer live independently, or whose family can no longer take care of them. The primary purpose of Project Lazarus it to provide continuity of care in a homelike environment with the highest goal of enhancing the quality of life of those it serves. Project Lazarus does not discriminate on the basis of age, race, religion, gender, economic status, sexual orientation or handicap. We'll have 6 beautiful wines, great food, a silent auction and a lot of fun! If you'd like to make an additional donation, please bring a check payable to Project Lazarus.
