Notes:This is, plain and simple, a great wine. But the wine is not plain and simple. Its color is a very dark ruby red, clear, with long legs. The nose is very pleasant, but misleading; it doesn't convey the complexities of the taste. The aroma is rich with dark fruits, like blackberry and plums. The wine has a very pleasant, long finish. It's very rich and somewhat fruity, with a lot of complexity and exceptional balance. It's very unusual, almost Burgundian in style, with the flavor of jammy fruits, full-bodied, dense and chewy, with a mineral quality and a touch of earthiness. I have a weakness for CDPs, and this complex yet balanced wine is an excellent example of why.
