Wine lovers who crave unique winery experiences as well as unique visual experiences can enjoy a special combination of wine, food, and art at the free "Drinkable Art" Open House featuring Artist-in-Residence Ken Schilling at the Huntington Wine Cellars Tasting Room located within the Front Street Wineries collective at 53 Front Street in Healdsburg, CA, on June 24 and 25, 2006, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

"Drinkable Art" incorporates the creation of a fine art piece by Schilling inspired by each varietal and vintage produced by Huntington Wine Cellars. The work of art will be created as a result of tasting each wine and then reproduced as part of the label to represent each vintage.

"All of us at Huntington Wine Cellars are thrilled to be working with Ken on this project," said Kent Godwin, a Proprietor of Huntington Wine Cellars. "We've always believed that wine is by definition a 'drinkable art' -- Ken's work has given each of our wines an inspired visual component that makes the enjoyment even better."

Ken Schilling's career has taken him to more than fifty countries, with his global canvas of visual experiences, he brings viewers into his paintings through the use of color, light, shadow and reflection, delivering dimension and realism. The addition of Ken Schilling's paintings has transformed the Huntington Wine Cellars Tasting Room into a tasting room and fine art gallery.

"Wine is a work of art in and of itself," said artist Ken Schilling. "The act of tasting or drinking wine makes use of all of our senses -- smell, taste, sight -- and each leaves a distinct impression and mental image. I've tried to bring that inspiring collection of mental imagery to the canvas for each of the Huntington wines."

In addition to the Drinkable Art project, Ken Schilling is Huntington's Artist in Residence. "Ken's incredible vision and his ability to translate that vision into a beautiful work of art has always amazed me. The addition of his art to our tasting room has literally transformed it," added Godwin.
