This '99 vintage is very pleasant, but it is lacking
somewhat in the firmness and depth for which Briarcrest has
become known. It still has the grace and texture that we
have enjoyed in past vintages and it still retains its
distinctive Bordeaux style. ..... Inherent with many wines
of the 1999 vintage, it's light to medium-bodied and it
doesn't have the same intensity in the fruit that we have
come to expect from this label. The bright berry flavors in
the taste of this wine are very typical of the '99 vintage.
The tannins are a little sharp initially, but with food they
quickly soften up.
