The picture-perfect color, combined with the bouquet of
cedar oak, Merlot grapes and a hint of herbs. It's a little
lighter than previous vintages, such as '96 and '97, and the
tannins are still a little sharp. ..... It's fruit forward
with flavors of raspberries, a little blackberry, plus black
cherry and a slightly plummy, chocolatey overtone. It ends
with a nice fruity finish, but because of its youth it dies
a little on the aftertaste.
