WINE =======: 1993 Phelan Segur AOC : Bordeaux Tasting Date: 2003-06-27 Varietal : Cabernet, Merlot, Cabernet Franc Score : 92 Country : France Region : Saint Estephe Notes ----- Garnet to deep purple in color with only a slight amber tinge on the edges, not representative of this wine's 10 year age; nose of cinnamon, black pepper, fresh, slightly tart cherry resolving itself more sweet with an impressively tangy finish; well balanced and firm, medium-to-full-bodied, with a finish that dances around on the tongue; a dynamic and complex wine, that one moment appears to be dying, and then the next sip explodes notifying you that things have only just begun; definitely an enigma. It is arguable whether this wine is peaking, past it's prime or has a lot more ageability than originally intended. One thing is for sure: this bottle drank very well.
