WINE =======: 2001 Barton & Guestier Cotes du Rhone AOC : Cotes-du-Rhone Controlee Tasting Date: 2004-05-21 Varietal : Melange of Grenache, Sirah Score : 92 Country : France State : Gironde Notes ----- My first foray with the CdR. Lovely ruby-red colour with black cherry nose; nice round mouthfeel; expressiveness was clear from the start, but after excessive breathing (4 hours) became a tad muddled. Complex and fun nonetheless. This was a STEAL from my neighborhood market. Additional Notes ---------------- Opened this bottle on a Friday evening in May. Although this one is great from the bottle without breathing, an additional 10 minutes provided a delightful complexity. Clare's Food Pairing Suggestions: Terrific paired with grilled T-bone, lamb. Doesn't do very well with Edam, however a Chevre with fresh herbs would suit more appropriately. Output generated by La Wine Club - http://LaWineClub.com/ =================
