WINE =======: 2001 Franz Künstler Hochheimer Reichestal Kabinett Tasting Date: 2004-05-05 Varietal : Riesling Score : 86 Country : Germany Region : Rheingau Notes ----- Normally I prefer red wines. I'll always choose a red over a white. But this wine was recommended by a friend who also prefers reds as being "a really great example of a good white wine." To my surprise, it was delicious. The color was a nice, very pale gold. The smell was sweet and fruity, light and delicate. The taste was sweet but not cloying, fruity, and very smooth. There was a hint of acidity that balanced the sweet and fruity elements very nicely, creating a very clean effect. I recommend this wine for anyone who's formed an opinion of white based on the cheap chardonnays people bring to parties. Output generated by La Wine Club - http://LaWineClub.com/ =================
