Chateau/Producer: | MO-RHE-NA | Wine Name: | Trockenbeerenauslese | Country: | Germany | State: | Pfalz | Wine Score: | 96 | Notes: | This was an amazing dessert wine. It was my first taste of a trockenbeerenauslese, so I am scoring it without anything to compare it to. However, it was wonderful. A beautiful honey-gold color, it had the scent of sweet fruit and honey, like apricot jam. It was very, very sweet, but not syrupy in texture, and a very fruity sweet, with flavors of peach, apricot, tangerine, honey, and rose petals. A nice citrusy tang lingers on the palate very cleanly. If you enjoy sweet wines, this one is delightful. | Tasting Date: | 2004-07-06 | Production Notes: | This particular wine seems to be one of the "house brands" produced by MO-RHE-NA. The MO-RHE-NA Wine Export Association was founded in 1982 by independent wine estate owners as Germany's first wine-export association that represents estate wines from different regions.
This price at which this wine was purchased seems like quite a good deal. | Price US$: | 29.00 | Source: | Dorignac's, Metairie, LA |
