WINE =======: 2000 Laurel Glen Terra Rosa Cabernet Sauvignon Tasting Date: 2004-09-12 Varietal : cabernet sauvignon Score : 86 Country : Argentina Region : Mendoza Notes ----- This wine is a great everyday drinking wine with a fine QPR (Quality/Price Ratio). Its color is a lovely clear ruby, so dark it is almost purple. It has a very fragrant scent, with a strong element of cocoa. With hints of cherry and blackberry, it has a good bit of acidity and definite tannins, but the acidity dominates a bit. Production Notes ---------------- Terra Rosa is bottled in two varieties, one from Chilean vinyards and one from Argentina. The 2002 vintage will be bottled with a screwcap. Additional Notes ---------------- I found this wine when dining at Irene's Cuisine, a great restaurant in the French Quarter. We were on a budget, and ordered the cheapest red wine on the list. It tasted like it, too. The waiter suggested Terra Rosa, only a few dollars more than the first wine, but much, much better. This was a 1999 Chilean version, but I've never been disappointed by this wine. Output generated by La Wine Club - http://LaWineClub.com/ =================
