Chateau/Producer: | Inniskillin | Wine Name: | Icewine Vidal | Country: | Canada | State: | Ontario | AOC: | VQA | Region: | Niagara Peninsula | Wine Score: | 96 | Notes: | This icewine is excellent, sweet yet balanced. The color is a beautiful light amber, tending toward golden yellow at the edges. Its aroma is distinct and present, with scents of honey, orange marmalade, and apricot. The wine has a medium-heavy body, and a great flavor. It's got a very thick, rich sweetness, with just enough acidity to keep it from being too much. It reminds me of a lightly orange- or tangerine-flavored syrup, but more fluid and less cloying. I enjoyed this more than some other icewines with sweetness, but less rich fruit flavors to complement that sweetness. | Tasting Date: | 2004-10-25 | Varietal: | Vidal | Price US$: | 75.00 | Source: | brought to a wine-tasting dinner |
