WINE =======: 1992 Staatsweingut mit Johannitergut Mussbacher Eselhaut Huxelrebe Trockenbeerenauslese AOC : QmP Tasting Date: 2004-10-24 Varietal : Huxelrebe Score : 97 Country : Germany State : Rhineland-Pfalz Region : Pfalz, Mossbach Notes ----- This was an incredible wine. It was a rich golden brown in color, amber-colored, and smelled of honey and apricots. The flavor was very rich and delicious, very sweet but nicely complex and well-balanced. Notes of honey, apricots, and peaches predominated. This was easily the best wine of its kind that I've had, and it was a great deal to boot--if you don't factor in the plane ticket. Additional Notes ---------------- This wine won a "Goldene Kammerpreismuenze" gold medal in 1994. They do not seem to give these out lightly in Germany.
