WINE =======: 1999 Staatsweingut mit Johannitergut Mussbacher Glockenzehnt Riesling Eiswien AOC : QmP Tasting Date: 2004-10-28 Varietal : Riesling Score : 96 Country : Germany State : Rhineland-Pfalz Region : Pfalz, Mussbach Notes ----- This was a very tasty wine, ranking very high on my list of icewines. The cork crumbled very nastily, but the wine was sound. It was a lovely golden light-amber color. The nose was a rich scent of honey, apricot, and peaches. The wine was intensely sweet, with a nice tang of acid to counterbalance, and flavors of honey, peach, apricot, tangerine, and dried fruits. It had a nice, long, sweet-lemony finish. It had maybe a hint of sharpness, like the bitter part of a lemon peel. This was a great wine experience. Additional Notes ---------------- This wine won a silver medal at the 2000 Landespraemierung.
