WINE =======: 1983 Rene Clusel Cote-Rotie AOC : Cote-Rotie Tasting Date: 2004-12-19 Varietal : 95% Syrah, 5% Voignier Score : 87 Country : France State : Rhone Region : Veremay-Ampuis Notes ----- The color is a nice, dark bricky red, tending toward watermelon at the edges. The nose has a meduim strength, nicely rich, with scents of currants and leather, with distinct hints of rubber. The finish is long. At first taste, the acid is more noticeable than anything else, but as the flavor progresses, the tannins come through. They're well-balanced overall, but it's interesting (and not exactly in a good way) how they each take precedence in turn. Flavors of black currant with just a touch of raspberry. This wine may be a bit past its prime, but I found it quite enjoyable. Output generated by La Wine Club - http://LaWineClub.com/ =================
