WINE =======: 2001 Chateau Pesquié Les Terrasses Côte de Ventoux Selection Speciale AOC : Côte de Ventoux Tasting Date: 2004-12-24 Varietal : Grenache 70%, Syrah 30% Score : 89 Country : France State : Rhone Region : Mormoiron Notes ----- Color is a nice light garnet, turning only slightly to pink at the edges. The nose is very rich and fruity, with jammy red fruits, raspberry, plum, and cherry, and hints of chocolate and new leather. The taste is not as concentrated as I'd like, a bit on the acid side, which kind of overpowers the fruit, mainly raspberry. A solid element of tannins keeps the acids in bounds. A pleasant little wine, good for everyday drinking or serving with food. Production Notes ---------------- Situated in the southern Rhone valley, east of Avignon, the Cote du Ventoux vineyard is adjacent to that of Gigondas, Vacqueras and Beaumes de Venise. With an area of 7,300 hectares, this appellation has a favorable micro-climate, protected from the Mistral by the Mont Ventoux and is at a certain elevation, cooling temperatures even during the hottest weeks. Les Terrasses, an assemblage of 70% Grenache and 30% Syrah, pays homage to the Proven Output generated by La Wine Club - http://LaWineClub.com/ =================
