WINE =======: 2001 Patrick Lesec Chateauneuf du Pape Rubis AOC : Chateauneuf du Pape Tasting Date: 2005-01-09 Varietal : 95% Grenache, 5% Syrah Score : 92 Country : France State : Rhone Region : Chateauneuf du Pape, La Crau Notes ----- The color is a pretty shade of ruby, only slightly lighter at the edges, and has very long, strong legs. There is a strong nose of red fruits--raspberry, plums, cherry, with maybe a hint of chocolate. The wine has a nice balance, with a very long, pleasant finish. There are strong fruit flavors of raspberry and cherry, with a good balance of acids and tannin. It may be a little heavy on the alcohol, but overall this was a very tasty CDP.
