WINE =======: 2001 Quinta Do Carmo and Domaines Barons De Rothschild Dom Martinho AOC : Vinho Regional Alentejano Tasting Date: 2005-01-23 Score : 90 Country : Spain State : Alentejo Region : Alentejo Notes ----- Beet red in color with pink traces at the edge. I characterize this wine's character as "furry". I'm not sure exactly why but it comes to mind. There's a luxurious nose attached to this wine that has an earthy, fabric-like candied quality. Hints of cigar box, candied red fruits, menthol. A nicely complex wine with substantive tannins and richness. Its color indicates medium bodied, but the taste is full-bodied. Additional Notes ---------------- Almost 200 km east of Lisbon and less than 40 km from Spain, Quinta do Carmo is situated in the heart of the Iberian Peninsula, in the beautiful Portuguese region of Alentejo. The Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite) purchased 50% of this property in 1992. Output generated by La Wine Club - http://LaWineClub.com/ =================
