WINE =======: 2001 Las Rocas de San Alejandro Garnacha Tasting Date: 2005-01-29 Varietal : Grenache Score : 89 Country : Spain State : Calatayud Region : San Alejandro Notes ----- Color is a pretty ruby color, not too deep, but a nice shade. The nose is rich and fruity with deep red fruits, primarily black cherry. The flavor has good fruit, more like raspberry and cherry, and a good healthy acid level, with an odd touch of bitterness, but not unpleasant. It doesn't have much in the way of tannins. I found this wine really quite pleasant. Additional Notes ---------------- This old vineyard in Calatayud, Spain, used to sell its entire production to a coop, but decided a few years ago to do a custom bottling for Eric Solomon, one of Polaner Selections' primary suppliers. The Calatayud D.O. is located in the most western part of the Spanish province of Zaragoza. The vineyards of San Alejandro cover a total of 1100 hectares in the villages of Miedes, Codos, Ruesca, Orera, Mara, Villalba de Perejiles, Belmonte de Graci Output generated by La Wine Club - http://LaWineClub.com/ =================
