WINE =======: 2001 Patrick Lesec Selections Chateauneuf Du Pape Rubis AOC : Chateauneuf Du Pape Tasting Date: 2005-02-13 Score : 90+ Country : France State : CdP Notes ----- Basic red with pink edges; nose of fresh red fruits with a hint of savory herb and a light covering of freshly cut green grass. The boquet seems to be ever-changing on this complex and interesting medium-to-full-bodied wine. Wonderful balance of tannins and fruit - almost explosive flavor that wraps up very smoothly. A fine example of what a refined CdR should taste like -- will be interesting to see how this wine changes over time. Terrific value and potentially underrated by my own figures.
