WINE =======: 2002 Onyx Noble Late Harvest AOC : Groenekloof Tasting Date: 2005-05-14 Varietal : Chenin Blanc Score : 91 Country : South Africa State : Swartland Region : West Coast Notes ----- Color is a lovely yellow golden, the color of citrine. The nose is very light, a faint scent like brandied peaches. Wow, this is a very tasty dessert wine. It has a medium-thick body, but not too syrupy. There's an explosion of fruit flavor, brandied peaches apricot, and orange, with a nice level of sweetness and good acidity to balance it. I'm very impressed by the quality of this wine; I wasn't expecting much, but it's quite tasty. Production Notes ---------------- This sweet dessert wine is the end result of the fungus Botrytis Cineria that infected some Chenin Blanc grapes early in the picking season of the 2002 harvest. The grapes were carefully selected and the sugar measured at 41 Output generated by La Wine Club - http://LaWineClub.com/ =================
