WINE =======: 1989 Moulin-Tacussel Chateauneuf du Pape AOC : Chateauneuf du Pape Tasting Date: 2005-07-10 Varietal : Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre Score : 90 Country : France State : Rhone Region : Chateauneuf du Pape Notes ----- The wine's color is very nice, with a clear ruby at the center, but fading to a more bricky red and quite pale at the edges. The nose is light, but very rich, mainly fruity, with black cherry, creme de cassis, and a hint of pencil shavings. The wine itself is chock-full of tannins, very smooth ones, but also quite powerful still. The fruit is somewhat subdued by the tannins, but given a little time to breathe, a strong cherry flavor comes through. Overall this wine is quite good, but not a stunner. It's hard to say whether it needs a bit more age, or if it is getting past its prime. Production Notes ---------------- 80% Grenache, 10% Syrah, 7% Mourv Output generated by La Wine Club - http://LaWineClub.com/ =================
