Chateau/Producer: | Bonny Doone | Wine Name: | Bouteille Call | Country: | USA | State: | California | Wine Score: | 83 | Notes: | This is one very strange wine. Its color is very dark red, almost black, fading to beet-red on the edges. The nose is unusual; sweet and raspberrylike, with an artificial quality. It reminds me very much of the raspberry flavor of the candy called Razzles (candy that became gum when you chewed it!). The wine is less cough-syrupy than a port, and the finish is reminiscent of Sweet-Tarts. I'm not sure exactly what you'd want this wine for, but it does go rather nicely with chocolate. Definitely a wine for shock value more than savoring. | Tasting Date: | 2005-05-05 | Varietal: | something red | Production Notes: | Price is for a 500 ml bottle. | Price US$: | 15.99 | Source: | Martin's Wine Tasting |
