Notes

Deep purple; nose of burnt plastic, vanilla, very tannic
with a substantive finish.

Production Notes
----------------
Conditions that give low yields often contribute to the
production of superb wines. The 2001 vintage is testament to
this phenomenon. Frost damage early in the year followed by
excessive heat during flowering set the stage for a small
crop, while consistently temperate weather during the
growing season yielded beautifully balanced grapes with
ripe, complex flavors.

This was part of a ten-year (85,89,90,95,96,97,99,00,01,02) vertical
tasting at the California Grill, Contemporary Resort, Walt Disney World in
association with Chateau Montelena and the Epcot Food and Wine Festival,
2005.
