WINE =======: 1982 Château Mouton-Rothschild AOC : Pauillac Tasting Date: 2003-06-21 Score : 99 Country : France Region : Medoc Notes ----- Very deep color with a hint of amber on the rim. This has the roasted coffee-bean quality often found in Mouton; real dark espresso notes. Loads of spice and tobacco over ripe, black fruit with cedar wood notes. On the palate this has a wonderful sweet and juicy quality of fruit, a vibrant tone of cassis and bittersweet plum. Real depth here, and also very muscular and powerful. Controlled and structured, this is dense, fleshy and very, very fine wine with supporting tannins underpinning all the fruit. Terrific length and purity on the finish.
