2000 Briand de Saint Sulpice [Bordeaux]
[Bordeaux/Meritage-style blend]
Posted by Mike P. on 2004-05-27 22:23:25 [Show TN in Text Format]
Chateau/Producer:Briand de Saint Sulpice
Country:France
AOC:Bordeaux
Region:Saint Sulpice
Wine Score:89+
Notes:Rich purple with only a slite fade at the edges; nose of mint, eucalyptus and old oak; medium-bodied with a rich mouthfeel and a bright and lively finish. This is what I'd consider to be a low-end French wine that is indicative of the outstanding 2000 vintage, where even common wines shine. I suspect this wine was aged in old oak - new oak would have made it superlative.
