It's a bit early yet...but you should already be making plans for the New Orleans Wine & Food Experience, or NOWFE. The Vintner Dinners have already begun to sell out.

The New Orleans Wine & Food Experience is not to be missed if you are in town (or can arrange to be in town). This five-day extravaganza of wine and food related events spans the long Labor Day weekend, from Wednesday, May 25 through Sunday, May 29, 2005.

During the five-day program, more than 800 vintages from around the world will be poured at various events. These events include Vintner Dinners at over 30 restaurants, hosted by winery representatives and pairing select wines with menus, all on Wednesday, May 25, beginning at 7 p.m. The Royal Street Experience is a festive stroll through Royal Street at the heart of the French Quarter's, closed to vehicular traffic for the event, on Thursday, May 26, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wines and food will be offered at some of the street's most stylish antique shops and art galleries, with live music from New Orleans musicians. The two days of Grand Tastings, with dishes from more than 100 of New Orleans' world-renowned restaurants and wines from more than 200 producers, take place on Friday, May 27 (from 5 to 8 p.m.), and Saturday, May 28 (from 1 to 4 p.m.), at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. Three days of seminars on a wide range of topics has been developed in partnership with wine educator and consultant Michael Green, which are to be led by winemakers, experts in viniculture and the wine industry, and top New Orleans restaurateurs on Thursday, May 26, Friday, May 27, and Saturday, May 28. Finally, on Sunday, May 29, two uniquely New Orleans traditions--the New Orleans Wine and Food Experience and the Champagne Jazz Brunch--join together for the Bubbles & Brunch Champagne brunch.

NOW&FE is a non-profit organization. Proceeds benefit the Louisiana Restaurant Association's School-to-Career Program, the Culinary Apprenticeship Program at Delgado Community College, and the University of New Orleans Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism Administration Program.
