On Friday night during our free tasting, we'll offer a chance to taste 3 great wines from our indulge table, all priced $30 and up, in the back room of the shop. Monica from Neat Wines will host the first "Backroom Select" with a flight of 3 fabulous big reds from her portfolio. Neat Wines features some of the best wines California has to offer, and we'll chose 3 for your tasting pleasure! And even though these are high-end wines, there's no snobbery attached to this tasting, just the same fun, informative, laid-back atmosphere you always get at Swirl. |

- 2005 Orin Swift's The Prisoner ($33.99) - A delicious wine offering zesty wild berry, spice and fresh tobacco, with focused and well-structured blackberry flavors. Plush, rich and concentrated, with wonderful focus. 3200 cases made- Highly Recommended. 51% Zinfandel 17% Syrah 19% Cabernet Sauvignon 10% Petite Syrah 3% Charbono. WS 93 pts.
- 2003 Bennett Lane Cabernet ($43.50) -Ripe and fleshy, with rich succulent layers of currant, anise, blackberry and black cherry fruit supported by hints of chicory-laced oak and firm yet ripe tannins. Best from 2007 through 2012. 1600 cases made. WS 91 pts.
- 2004 Tor Rock Napa Syrah ($38.50) Tor Kenward has produced a brilliant 2004 Syrah from Napa. A blend of two vineyards, it offers aromas of bacon fat intermixed with blackberry, licorice, pepper, and a hint of roasted coffee. Opulent and rich, it is a gorgeous Syrah to drink young or age for 5-7 years. Only 260 cases made of this fabulous wine! WA 90-92, WS 91.
