The New Orleans Wine & Food Experience is excited to announce it?s 2013 Program Lineup. As NOWFE celebrates its 21st year it continues to bring together world-renowned winemakers, celebrated chefs and industry insiders in a showcase of signature events and seminars designed to educate, entertain and inspire.

The 21st Anniversary of the New Orleans Food & Wine Experience, which takes place May 22 ? 25, 2013, includes Wine Dinners hosted by more than 30 New Orleans area restaurants; Vinola, NOWFE's premium tasting event; the Royal Street Stroll sponsored by Rouses, NOWFE's signature event, a definitive evening event set in the heart of the French Quarter; and exciting Sommelier Series and Chef?s Series Seminars which showcase the hottest trends in wine and food. This year also marks the second year for the Big Gateaux Show, a pastry competition and tasting at which spectacularly designed pastries will be paired with Champagne Nicolas Feuillatte, and celebrity judges and attendees will choose a winner.

The weekend culminates with Grand Tastings on Friday and Saturday with more than 175 wineries showcasing over 1000 wines and 75 chefs serving culinary bites from our region. In addition, at the Saturday Grand Tasting the 7th annual Louisiana Seafood Cook-Off hosted by the Louisiana Seafood Board will crown the ?King or Queen of Louisiana Seafood,? who will then represent Louisiana in the seventh annual Great American Seafood Cook-Off.

The Ella Brennan Lifetime Achievement in Hospitality Award will honor Ms. Leah Chase at a new event?Funkin? it Up?a collaborative, fundraising partnership between NOWFE and the John Besh Foundation. Funkin? it Up will feature celebrity guest chefs including Danny Bowien, Dan Kluger, Paul Kahan, Aaron Sanchez and John Besh. The John Besh Foundation will also award the John Besh and Bride Mayor Chefs Move! Scholarships to the International Culinary Center in New York at this exciting event.

NOWFE 2013 attendees can ?travel? around the world with seminars such as ?Bold & Bodacious,? big and gutsy reds from some of the world?s most exciting regions; ?Israeli Street Foods,? with Chef Alon Shaya of Domenica; ?Asian Cajun,? an exploration into the history of Asian fishermen and the influence of their culture and cuisine on the gumbo pot of South Louisiana; and a special seminar dedicated to Anne Gooch??From World's Fair to World's Fare??The revitalization of the Warehouse District began nearly 20 years ago following the 1984 Louisiana World's Fair New Orleans' and the Historic Warehouse District here in New Orleans continues to evolve as one of the city's most expansive and exciting culinary destinations.

NOWFE 2013 will be held May 22 ? 25, 2013. In an effort to fight hunger and support culinary education, the 2012 beneficiaries will share 100% of the proceeds. Second Harvest Food Bank of Greater New Orleans and Acadiana will receive 40% and the following will share the remaining 60%: the Louisiana Restaurant Association Education Foundation's ProStart Program, Delgado Culinary Arts School, New Orleans Center for the Creative Arts? Culinary Program, the John Folse Culinary Institute and the Edible Schoolyard New Orleans.
