The nose is on the light side, with raspberry, blackberry, and plum, with hints of chocolate and leather. The flavor is nice, rather dense, with good berry fruit flavors and a healthy structure of tannins. I tasted this wine after it had had a day or two to breathe, which helped. It had loads of tannins on opening, and was still on the tannic side after this long breathing space, but not in a bad way. It could definitely use some maturing, or if you must drink it now, lots and lots of time to breathe. Still, I quite liked it.
